The Thrift Shop was the brainchild of Maggie Lunan initially as a way of raising money for Christian Aid.
In 2013 the Thrift Shop celebrated it’s 30th birthday. It was first opened on 19th April 1983 during the Church’s bi-centenary. The shop operated temporarily from Bill Watson’s workshop at Wakatanie. It then moved to its present home at the original garage of the manse, 39 St Andrews Road, Lhanbryde.
The Thrift Shop is open Tuesdays 10 – 11.30 am and Thursdays 1.30 – 3 pm. Donations can be handed in at the shop at these times too. When you are “spring cleaning” don’t forget that your “throwaways” may be someone else’s “treasures”!
